- Counsellor

Tenisha is an Aotearoa-born Fijian-Indian. She offers short-term and long term therapy to adults, couples and adolescents (16+ years).

Tenisha is a qualified, registered counsellor (PMNZAC) and has an undergraduate degree in Psychology, postgraduate diploma in Counselling, Masters in Human Rights, and is currently completing my Masters in Counselling. Tenisha has spent the last 11 years providing therapy to individuals, couples, families and groups. She has worked with all age, gender and cultural groups, and is committed to providing culturally responsive mental health support, especially for ethnic and migrant communities.

Tenisha’s approach to counselling and therapy is holistic, strengths-based and trauma-informed. Rather than see herself as the expert in the room, she works with you to draw out your inner wisdom. She works with various issues, so whether you're looking for specific support or enhancing your general wellbeing, she aims to cultivate an empowering space to support your growth.

Tenisha hopes to provide a warm, safe and hopeful space for people to explore the nuances of life's journey and develop skills to support their healing in a collaborative way.

  • Tenisha’s specialist areas are 1.5 and 2nd generation migrants, cross-cultural and bi-racial relationships, belonging, identity, grief and trauma.
